Event Report: Mentoring Lunch

LEAD Network Mentoring Lunch in Geneva on November 1st, 2019

On November 1st, the LEAD Network Switzerland Chapter hosted their 4th mentoring event in Geneva.

22 Mentors and mentees came together to kick off their mentorship over a lunch at Restaurant
L’Adresse. The mentors and mentees applied upfront for the event: they were then matched based on their interests, seniority and goals and received prior the event more details about their respective mentee/ mentor.

It was another great event: everyone was extremely energised and engaged! Most of the mentors and mentees started their conversations right away, even before the official introductory part.

Caroline Basyn, Chair of the LEAD Network Switzerland Chapter and Sandra Kottenauer, leader of My Career – one of the three “pillars” of the Switzerland Chapter, introduced the Mentoring lunch event. All participants received a discussion guide which helped them set the framework for the dialogue.

Then the official mentoring talks continued for one and a half hours over lunch. The mentorship pairs were highly engaged in the discussion and most of them already planned to meet again over the next couple of months.

Due to a high number of requests of mentees for mentors (we were not able to accommodate all the requests) and positive feedback received we’ll for sure continue organizing this type of event.
