On February 6th, 2020, LEAD Network Turkey with CCI – Coca-Cola Beverages sponsorship hosted Professor Dr. Mayr Lou O’Neil, Kadir Has University Gender and Woman Studies Research Center Manager.
Moving to Turkey 20 years ago, O’Neil shared her observations with LEAD Network Turkey members. She shared many examples on the gender of life and use of language, relationships and work life. She underlined that it would not be possible to achieve gender equality solely with corporate policies and added ‘For these policies to be effective, they should be integrated with everyday life. Companies should try to increase awareness via projects starting with the avoiding discriminating language’.
According the to the research conducted by Kadir Has University Gender and Woman Studies Research Center, the happiness in on the decrease since 2016 as the violence against women increases followed by unemployment.
CCI Group Human Resources Director Ebru Ozgen said that as CCI they fully embraced respect to human rights policy. Ozgen elaborated that they avoid any kind of discrimination to level the playing field among employees and the be inclusive and diverse in every aspect of the business even entice their business partners to do the same.
