5 Questions to the LEAD Network Membership Committee

1. Tell us about yourself and what motivates you to be engaged with the LEAD Network.

Peter: I joined the Membership Committee in November 2017. I am honoured to be able to work with this network, full of talented and committed individuals, who want to drive equality in the consumer goods industry. The LEAD Network has offered me the opportunity to not only contribute to that change internally within my company, but also in the broader industry. I can share my learnings and experiences; and importantly I am constantly learning from others. By working together, we can accelerate the change that we want to drive; and we can make sure that the next generation, our children, will live and work in an environment where people get equal chances, regardless of their gender, and where everyone can be their true selves.

Julia: Freedom, equality and respect. These are the human rights and the values that I stand for and stand up for. Making a change in the world and ensuring these rights for everyone motivates me to actively pursue this goal and not to give up!

Lauren: “The LEAD network gives women a chance to be seated at the table when it comes to leading and advancing their careers in the consumer goods and retail industries. Through volunteering, I hope this will get the word out to more female and male leaders to keep advancing women through education, leadership and business development. I am really looking forward to being a part of the growth journey of this network and its members.”

3. Tell us a bit about the Membership Committee, its mission, and the activities you’re involved in.

The mission of the Membership Committee is to continue to grow the LEAD Network by being in touch with its members and partners and by understanding their needs and interests. We want to ensure that we have a relevant offering of products and services to keep our current members engaged, and to continuously attract new members to the network. We work closely with the other committees to share the insights from members and partners, and to integrate them into our plans and our offering.

4. What will the Committee focus on in 2019?

Better understanding of the members’ and corporate partners’ needs and challenges and working with other LEAD Network committees to address them.

5. Where the Committee has been most proud of in 2018?

In 2018, we reached the milestone of 4,000 members!!! This is the best demonstration of the need for a network like LEAD; and in the support and commitment to its mission. As a membership committee, we ran the first survey among all LEAD Network Members and ran interviews with the partner companies. Thanks to the high response rate on the survey, we collected very insightful information which we are using the define the strategy, focus areas and activities for the future.
